A remarkable pair of vintage Charleton torchiere table lamps. These lamps were produced by the renowned decorating firm Abels & Wasserberg & Company (AWCO) between the 1940s and 1960s. They feature a light blue body with dark grey/black and gold leaf floral motifs.
What makes these pieces stand out is their production method and authentic condition. Abels & Wasserberg purchased high-quality, undecorated ceramic, glass, and other materials, known as "blanks," from various manufacturers (e.g., Fenton Glass was a common supplier). They then employed skilled artisans to hand-decorate each piece, ensuring that every lamp has a unique, hand-crafted finish that speaks to a legacy of quality craftsmanship.
The brass components display a patina, consistent with their authentic age. These pieces have been rewired with a period-appropriate cloth-covered cord. 8 inch diameter milk glass diffuser shades included.
