This mid-century electric floor lamp, circa 1940s,  features an ivory-toned, translucent Alacite glass neck accent and matching illuminated base. Originally known as a "lounge lamp," the dual-light configuration allows the top bulb and the decorative base to be turned on independently or together, offering a soft night-light option alongside standard room lighting. The metal components are finished in a dark, structured patina with brass accents. THe piece was rewired with period accurate cloth covered wire. The base shows some aged patina that reflects its history, and we ask that you review the photos. These signs of age are subtle and do not take away from the clean appearance and beauty of the piece.
This collectible floor lamp was manufactured by the Aladdin Lamp Company (originally founded as the Mantle Lamp Company of America in 1908). Initially famous for perfecting non-pressure kerosene lamps that produced an incredibly bright, clean, incandescent light, the Chicago-based manufacturer expanded into innovative, high-quality electric fixtures and proprietary glassware during the 1930s and 1940s. This floor lamp represents a classic piece of mid-century American craftsmanship from a celebrated name in lighting history.
