Antique desk or table lamp with adjustable gooseneck design. This piece features a classic bell shade that rotates to direct the light away from the eyes. The neck bends in multiple directions and sits on a cast iron base that features a scroll motif with long, curved lines. Very similar to the Aladdin No.50 model desk lamp manufactured in the 1920s

The lamp suffered through many decades with a poorly applied gold spray paint finish, but we saw potential. As the wire brush wheel began to uncover some of the original paint and bare metal we fell in love with the distressed industrial look, and decided to not proceed to a new paint job.  The brilliant raw brass of the original socket adds a nice contrast. Several coats of shiny lacquer preserve the look.
